Conan signs with TBS

Despite reported contract talks with the Fox network, Conan O’Brien is to host a new talk show on US cable network TBS. NBC paid O’Brien in the region of 28m to end his seven-month reign as host of The Tonight Show earlier this year. O'Brien's manager Gavin Polone told The Associated Press that TBS, “didn’t let anything get in their way”, adding that it was the "swiftest complex deal" he had made in 23 years. Before concluding: "There were other opportunities where Conan would have made more money, but for Conan it was never about the money." The new show will broadcast Mondays to Thursdays from November.
